• Since the pandemic hit, the number of children we feed increased by 26%
• More than 100 schools are now involved in our Weekends Without Hunger Program.
"He arrived each day at school with one piece of white bread... that was moldy."
We wish we could say this was an isolated occurrence, but there are more than 900 kids in Halton with limited or no access to food each weekend.
Food4Kids provides packages of healthy food for elementary age kids with limited or no access to food each weekend.
The food packages are assembled by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend. There are more than 900 children in Halton struggling through each weekend without food.
It’s hard to believe children in our very own community go hungry, but it's a reality faced by families each and every day. The worsening economy, job loss, illness, marriage breakdown, or newcomers who seek safe refuge in Canada, are some of the reasons families will turn to Food4Kids for support.
Food4Kids is funded through donations or one-time grants. While hunger exists around the world, we address hunger in our home community.

TESTIMONIALS... SAY IT ALL
"When you are a struggling family and find yourself on the poverty line times can be difficult."
thank you for everything you do
"This program is such a great benefit to our family. During the summer months a generous volunteer came to our home and gave us groceries for the week. We would get a carton of milk and meat and produce, it meant we would have dinner for 2 days. It was such a tremendous blessing and really would help us out. During the school year my child gets a bag once a week delivered to her school. These weekly bags give a breakfast, fruits and snacks for the weekend. When you are a struggling family and find yourself on the poverty line times can be difficult. The support from Food4Kids has been a tremendous help. Thank you for everything you do."
